PUMPKIN PIE EATING CONTEST

Contest Rules

• 2 Age Categories: UNDER 18 YEARS and 18 YEARS AND OLDER
• Contest will be limited to the first 10 entrants in each age category.
• Registration begins at 11 AM on Saturday, September 26th and will close after registering ten (10) contestants.
• Contest will begin at 12 Noon.
• Contestants and parents must sign a waiver of liability.
• Entry fee is $1.
• Winner will be determined by the most pie - by weight - eaten within five (5) minutes.
• All contestants must wait for the start signal before beginning to eat.
• Each pie must be consumed completely before moving onto the next.
• Whipped cream is optional and can be added at any time during the contest at contestant’s request.
• At the end of five (5) minutes, contestants must stop eating.
• If at any point, a contestant cannot hold his/her pie, that contestant will be disqualified.
• Judges’ decision will be final.

PUMPKIN PIE BAKE-OFF

Contest Rules

• Bake your best pumpkin pie, using pumpkin as your main ingredient.
• Present two (2) freshly baked homemade pies between 9 and 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2009. Pies will not be accepted after 9:30 AM.
• Entry free is $1.00 per contestant.
• Judging begins at 10 AM
• Bring your pies in disposable pie pans, with a 3 x 5 card containing your name, address and phone number.
• On a separate 3 x 5 card, write your recipe with a complete list of all ingredients.
• Pies will become property of Covered Bridge Harvest Fest.
• Pies will be judged in two (2) categories: Amateur and Professional, and on appearance, crust, taste and texture.
• After the judging is completed and prizes awarded, slices of all pies will be available for sale. Proceeds will benefit the Covered Bridge Harvest Fest.
• Decisions are the sole responsibility of the judges and final.

Prizes for Both Categories

   1st Place: $25 gift certificate to Strack & Van Til's
   2nd Place: $10 gift certificate to Strack & Van Til's
   3rd Place: $5 gift certificate to Strack & Van Til's

PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST

Contest Rules

• Contest is only open to amateurs.
• Entries will be accepted until 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2009.
• Judging begins at 3 PM
• Please use a FRESH pumpkin and DO NOT CARVE.
• Use of any decorating material or medium is acceptable.
• Pumpkins will be returned to owners Sunday afternoon.
• Any design deemed inappropriate by the judges will not be allowed into the contest and will be returned to the owners.
• Pumpkins will be judged in the following categories:
